GIG REVIEW - 21 MIC SALUTE
The
connotations of Hip Hop often leave a bitter taste in the mouth of a
'non-believer'. It is a culture that is often drenched in false associations
that are misleading and have unfortunately stuck. On the 21st of
December 2013, we were invited to our 2nd 21 Mic Salute event that took place
at the Old Papa Chillos in Tembisa. The initiative seeks to rid Hip Hop of
those negative myths by giving to the less privileged. Spoken word artists and
MC's on this night unite in Tembisa to collectively raise funds for the Ubuhle
Bezwe Remedial Home.
